"Untitled (grótta)" (2006) loop.
AUTHOR: Kristín Helga Káradóttir, (Iceland).
DESCRIPTION: "The artist lies at the edge of the sea as the waves of the incoming tide creep towards her and recede. The natural ebb and flow of the water—standing tall, towering over the image—behaves like a kind of 'flowing-matter' (Deleuze), setting Karadottir’s scene into motion. The night lights of Reykjavík are pushed up into the upper registers of the frame, while her clothing blends into the liminal fold between land from sea. Each of these elements point significantly to the temporality of the medium itself." — Alena J. Williams
